Maraschino Cherries, with Stems

Originally a delicacy, served to royalty and the well-to-do, maraschino cherries were first brought to the U.S. in the late 19th century, filling a niche in barkeepers garnish trays. Our cherries without stems are great in the classic cocktails they're known to complete, but they also have a strong presence in the dessert world, too! Try topping Black Forest cake with a handful, or set them in with the pineapple in upside down cake. Ambosia with fresh orange segments and mini marshmallows is perfected with a cupful of these crimson orbs.
